چکیده

Background/Aim: This study aimed to evaluate the precision of Raypex 6 apex locator in locating apical constriction (AC) and major foramen (MF) during a root canal treatment compared with microscopic evaluation. Another aim present was accuracy presence different irrigating solutions (NaOCl, saline, EDTA, etidronic acid-HEBP). Material Methods: One hundred nine patients were included this randomly assigned into four groups according irrigation solution used; NaOCl, HEBF saline. Electronic MF (EMF) AC (EAC) measured by using 6. The teeth extracted. 3 mm each trimmed expose file tip. samples observed under stereomicroscope, actual length (ALMF) (ALAC) measured. data analyzed x2 test, significance set at P< 0.05. Results: accurate 71.4% time ±0.5mm 93.3% ±1mm determining ALAC. While similar ALAC-EAC differences saline (p= 0.230), highest seen HEBP group 1.000). working measurement depends on type irrigation. All allowed reliable detection AC. However, significantly increased risk overpreparation. Conclusions: can be recommended for clinical use its is not affected irrigant when MF.

Accuracy of an Electronic Apex Locator for Working Length Determination in Primary Anterior Teeth

OBJECTIVES Correct determination of working length is an important step for success of endodontic therapy. Conventional radiography has limitations in providing the accurate location of apical foramen. For this reason, electronic apex locators (EALs) were developed to shorten the treatment time and decrease the radiation dose. The aim of this study was to evaluate the accuracy of Root ZX EAL fo...

Effects of simulated lateral canals on the accuracy of measurements by an electronic apex locator.

BACKGROUND Accurate determination of the apical terminus plays a significant role in the success of root canal therapy, but accuracy may be affected by the presence of accessory canals. OBJECTIVE To evaluate the accuracy of a ratio-based electronic apex locator for roots with simulated lateral canals. METHODS Forty-two single-rooted human teeth were randomly divided into 2 groups. For each ...

Electronic Apex Locators and Conventional Radiograph in Working Length Measurement

The success of endodontic treatment is highly dependent on the adequate three-dimensional cleaning, shaping, disinfection, and obturation of the root canal system. It is universally accepted that the correct determination of the working length (WL) is one of the crucial steps in the process of a successful treatment. It is believed that root canal preparation and filling should be kept inside t...
